Heel is very comfy, I normally wear heels so this is obviously subjective to my experience. They are well made for the cost (man-made material seems durable), can be worn for hours. Calf size is adjustable, I found them to fit perfectly and I have average sized calves. No problem for me with odor (it was a normal odor that often comes with man-made products) and I appreciated that the packaging was minimal (very eco-friendly), in my opinion I do not need a box for my box, although the shoe box was slightly damaged there was no damage to the boots so I am A-okay with that. I have attached photos for reference. Honestly, I am tempted to buy another pair now for back up b/c I know I am going to wear the cra@p out of these:-)

Update: 10/21/16 Edited after wearing a few times: Although I still love these boots and continue to wear them regularly I found that the side zipper stitching somehow digs into my ankle:-( maybe I have fat ankles:-/ lol...it is quite uncomfortable but not enough to deter me from wearing them but just thought others should know.

I was excited when they arrived on time and they are beautiful!!! However after only 4 hours of wear the heel broke!!!! The sharp metal scratched up the restaurants wood flooring. Beautiful but very cheap!!! I had to walk to the parking garage in my socks and it was 23 degrees outside. A waste of my hard earned money.

Perfect for a Jedi Knight costume or Kylo Ren! Wore them for 8 hours, but hurt my feet after a while. Buy them slightly larger and add inserts, for support. Your feet will thank you. And your back.

Fit well everywhere but the calf.
